ReSLEEVE & RePLAY
 |
| ReBinder (formally
Sustainable Group) ReSleeve and RePlay: Recycled
CD/DVD Sleeves. Music styles are always changing, so why
shouldn't the packaging?! If music is a form of self
expression, then what does using a plastic jewel case say about
you and your product? Let’s face it, plastic jewel cases
are a thing of the past. They are prone to cracking and
can’t be recycled. Protect your media in a ReSleeve or a
RePlay. Both are made from 100% Recycled Fibers and are
fully recyclable. Our recycled sleeves are great for
storing, protecting or used as a mailing envelope for your
discs. They are perfect for the band or the board room. |
FSC Certification:
All of ReBinder’s chipboard products
are now certified by the
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) under certificate
# SCS-COC-002327.
What are FSC Certified Products? The FSC
is an international, independently audited certification and
labeling system that allows buyers to choose paper and wood
products that come from responsibly managed forests, and
verified recycled sources. Under FSC certification,
forests are certified against a set of strict environmental and
social standards, and fiber from certified forests is tracked
all the way to the consumer through the Chain of Custody
certification system. The FSC “check-tree” logo is your
guarantee that the products you buy are responsibly sourced.
The intent of the FSC system is to shift the market to eliminate
habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous
peoples and violence against people and wildlife that often
accompanies logging.
FSC Certified Products Are Important for the Environment
and Your Brand: Corporate social responsibility
issues have become a core piece of corporate brands.
Responsibly dealing with your company’s footprint will not only
reduce risk, but can also complement your brand if you can walk
the walk and know how to have a conversation about it.
ReBinder’s products that carry the FSC certification logo lets
the world know that your company supports the highest social and
environmental standards and products in the the market.
The purchase of these products contribute to the conservation,
responsible management, and community level benefits for well
managed forests and verified recycled paper sources.
Chipboard: All of ReBinder’s chipboard
products are made from 100% Recycled fibers (85% Post Consumer
Recycled / 15% Post Industrial Recycled). It’s not that we
don’t want to be 100% Post Consumer Recycled, but it’s how
recycled paper gets defined. There is a "gray area" in the
classifying of what is post consumer and what is post
industrial. Take for example, a newspaper or an old phone
book. Companies produce an excess of both. If that
newspaper or phonebook doesn’t make it into the hands of it’s
recipient, then it is classified as post industrial recycled.
Post Consumer Recycled vs. Post Industrial Recycled:
What’s the difference? Post Consumer Recycled
means that a product has gone through it’s life cycle and has
made it back into the the recycling stream. An example of
this would be anything that you toss into your recycle bin at
home (old magazines, used milk cartons, soda cans, etc).
Post Industrial Recycled (also called Pre-Consumer Recycled) can
be defined as the left over mill scrap or the manufacturing
waste left over from making a product. An example of this
could be a magazine publisher that has excess paper trim left
over from printing a magazine. That material can be
recycled but hasn’t made it’s way into a usable product but gets
put back into the recycling system. While both are
important, it’s better that we support products that are made
with a highest post consumer content than post industrial.
Otherwise, what’s the incentive to recycle? As a society,
we create a lot of waste. We also have a lot of recycled
product that needs to find a home other than a landfill.
It would be great if our inputs (recycled waste) were equal to
our outputs (new products). |
