Why are these the best duplicators around? Glad you asked...

Drives: It may appear that all drives are the same as they are all outsourced from Pioneer, Plextor, Sony, etc. However, because of Vinpower Digital's relationship with the manufacturers, they can order drives that match their needs. The manufactures still get approx. 90% of their drive orders for computers, which may differ in needs as compared to duplicators. Often there may be a difference in burn speed between two different drives. For instance, if you are burning a 4.7GB DVD-R at 8x speed and there’s a 5 second differential between the fastest and slowest burners, it will amount to a 40MB difference between the data flow. With any components that work in conjunction with others, they can only work as fast as their slowest part. If one burner is slower than the others, it can slow the entire process. Vinpower Digital is able to modify their drives to burn at the same speed all the time, to assure higher quality and true maximum burn speed.

Controllers: Vinpower Digital manufactures their own controller. The most common controller used in other duplicators is the A-Card controller, which is manufactured to work the same for everyone. With an A-card controller, the focus is more on uniformity to work with a broad range of drivers. Since Vinpower Digital does not sell their controllers separately, they can create a controller that focuses on a more optimal operation with specific drivers. They can design their controllers to better meet your needs for both performance and aesthetics. In fact, if you took two identical duplicators with the only variables being the controllers (an A-card in one and Vinpower Digital's calibrated for the exact driver in the other), Vinpower Digital's controller will produce a better PIPO number every time (scale for measuring disc quality). Vinpower Digital can calibrate their controllers to optimize any drivers/burners on the market. In addition to compatibility, they make a more powerful controller that ensures proper function and more reliability. The added power allows their controller to perform all the same functions as the A-card, but offers more options. Their controllers come standard with a 128MB memory buffer, as well as partition naming, password protection, screen savers, and more.

Power Supply: The power supply for most electric devices requires 1 microchip per every 80W of power. Most companies provide the minimum requirement. If one of the chips fails, the entire unit is rendered useless as it cannot handle the power supply. Vinpower Digital always over specs their machines to include more capacity than the minimum requirements, to eliminate power failures. Their machines have 30% to 40% more capacity. If one of the chips fails, there will not be a disruption. Most manufactures use the Mapower case. Vinpower Digital used Mapower in the past, and with that particular case, they found an almost 20% return rate due to power supply issues within the one year warranty. Since Vinpower Digital has switched to their own design, the return rate due to power supply issues has been lowered to 0.1%. That’s a dramatic difference, which increases customer satisfaction due to fewer issues with the duplicators.

Case: Vinpower Digital designed their own chassis that not only has a more attractive design, but is far more functional. Because they are made of aluminum, they are lighter, yet sturdier, than steel cases. The Shark Blu is specially designed with a special "gill" venting system on each side of the case to allow the air flow into the machine without passing through the drive face. This eliminates approximately 80% of harmful dust from entering into the drive itself and landing on the laser head. To further prevent dust from entering the drives, the Shark Blu is equipped with exterior drive door covers to block harmful dust particles. These drive covers keep the dust out and provide an attractive uniform look for the duplicator itself. In addition, since the case is made out of aluminum, it gets rid of the harmful heat up to 3 times faster than a standard steel case. By dramatically decreasing the amount of heat and dust from disrupting the capabilities of the drives, the Shark Blu can extend the life of the drives by 20% - 30%. The fans built inside a Shark Blu use a ball bearing system, instead of the cheaper plastic solid fans used by many other duplicators, to ensure stable and continuous ventilation.
